I wish to upgrade the current 3.06GHz/533MHz CPU (P4 SL8JA Rev OE) which is non-Hyperthreading to a 3.8GHz/800MHz P4 HT SL7Z3, which the Gigabyte site/manual indicates is compatible with the mobo. The machine has Award 2004 version 10v BIOS which has no means of enabling Hyperthreading, so I need to update the BIOS to a 2005(>) HT-supportive version so that the HT attributes of the replacement CPU can be recognized/utilised.

PB no longer offer any support for this model (<2008 = Too old).
Drivers oki others. Their “older products” pages (2004~2007 models) ftp://ftp.download.packardbell.com/DESKTOP/ list some Win XP drivers, but no BIOS updates.
I am just going round in circles looking for a copy of a BIOS upgrade which will enable Hyperthreading support.
Any factual input, especially a copy of the relevant BIOS update (does version 20u support hyperthreading?) or a (live!) link to download it would be very gratefully received. Alternatively is there a patch for the current version?
Other OEM BIOSes for the GA-8i915PM mobo do not appear to be compatible with the PB NEC mobo, although would presumably be patchable – for a competent coder (which is not me!).
